Yes, it’s true. This is a scarf made of chainmail. Each ring in this design was individually opened by hand, woven around the others, and closed by hand by me. Hours of work went into it. It is 56 inches long.

It’s made of shiny, bright aluminum, so it’s a LOT more lightweight than you would first imagine (1/3 the weight of steel). It’s 194.4 grams, which is .43 lbs. Yes, it weighs less than half a pound. :)

Not recommended for below freezing temperatures.

It’s easy to maintain. A quick wash with dish soap and water any dirt it might pick up from day to day use. It does not rust, tarnish, or form a patina. Plus, it also offers protection if anyone tries to stab you in the neck with a really dull sword (do not try that at home).
