This handmade chainmaille bracelet was woven with especially thick, chunk rings for a heavy, substantial look. The rings in the middle three rows are made of 14 gauge wire, in just the right size to create a nice dense sheet. Most chainmail woven in this European pattern is very “open” looking, but this ring size keeps it nice and compacted. Smaller 18 gauge rings edge the bracelet, adding width and a slightly lacy look. It is a full inch wide.

The silver colored rings are made of bright aluminum, which is nice and lightweight. While this bracelet LOOKS very heavy, you will be pleasantly surprised with how super lightweight it is. The whole thing weighs 23.8 grams, the weight of about four US quarters. Bright aluminum never rusts or tarnishes, and washes up very easily with standard dish soap and water you ever want to wash it.

Whenever possible, I use the highest quality saw cut rings in my jewelry. Saw cut rings are preferable to lower quality machine cut rings because the ends can come together nice and flush. There are no rough gaps at the closures of the rings. This bracelet uses exclusively saw cut metal rings.

A silver plated lobster clasp keeps it closed very securely. It’s currently 7.5 inches long to fit most women, but size adjustments can be made. Just send me a message. :)
